Last 90 Days: 30 Days In

Happy November! This year I decided to participate in Rachel Hollis’s Last 90 Days challenge. The idea behind the Last 90 Days is to treat the end of the year like you do the beginning of the year and work on becoming your best self. I started at the beginning of October, and we’re already 30 days in!

Rachel Hollis has five things that she suggests doing every day for self-improvement, but I’ve modified those to things that better suit my current goals.

1. Move every day.

This is one that Rachel recommends. I have to admit October wasn’t the most successful for me. I’m going to continue working on that this month. I’ve been trying to keep up with a Garmin training program and follow Anna Victoria’s Fit Body program.

I’m definitely going to make more an effort to stick to a fitness routine this month, ideally with workouts 4-5 days a week and longer walks with Jessie on the other days.

2. Write down 3-5 things you’re grateful for.

This is another one on Rachel’s list, but she suggests 5. I think 3-5 is more reasonable for me to create a daily list without repeating some of the same things every day.

3. Meditate

This is one that I added for myself. The benefits of meditation are huge, and during this transitional stage of my life, I’ve seen those benefits over the last month. I’ve been meditating almost every day so far, and I feel overall much calmer and less stressed.

4. No unnecessary spending.

I decided to carry this over from October’s no spend challenge and carry it out through the rest of the year. Aside from some probably unnecessary food spending, I felt like I was probably successful.

B and I are hoping to buy a house next summer, so I really want to focus on saving as much as we can. Since the end of the year tends to be expensive with gifts, cutting out personal spending will help even that out some. Wish me luck on Black Friday!

5. Stick with my nutrition program.

I’ve been using a combination of Isagenix and Weight Watchers, but I wasn’t fully committed to either. I’ve been doing a better job since the beginning of October and I’m seeing results.

The Last 90 Days challenge has been extremely motivating for me to end this year (and this DECADE!) on a high.
