Southport, NC Travel Guide

If you’re looking for a coastal getaway, look no further than Southport, NC. My family has been visiting Southport for the last few years, and it’s become a special place for my husband and me too. We love the small-town vibe. It’s the perfect getaway for us on the water.

Southport, NC is a small town with a rich history and lots of character! There’s so much good food and no shortage of things to do.

Where to Stay

While you can stay in a chain hotel just outside of town, I would highly recommend staying downtown in a bed and breakfast or Airbnb. There are so many cute Airbnbs in Southport that’ll put you right in the middle of everything.

The Bell-Clemmons House and Robert Ruark Inn are two cute bed and breakfasts downtown in old Victorian homes that are so cute!

Staying downtown will allow you to walk everywhere you want to go in town so you don’t need to worry about parking.

Where to Eat

Provision Company

Provision is the place to go in Southport. Be prepared to wait for at least an hour, but know that it’s well worth it. While you’re waiting, grab a beer or wine cooler out of the refrigerated cases to enjoy while you’re waiting.

Order the tuna sandwich blackened. I get the same thing every time because it’s so good!

Mr. P’s Bistro

If you’re looking for a good date night restaurant and don’t mind a meal that’s on the pricier end (think $30 entrees), Mr. P’s is a great spot. It’s a cozy little restaurant with delicious food.

Moore Street Oyster Bar

A great casual dining spot on Moore Street. They have a wide selection of warm and cold oysters, steamer pots with various seafood, and burgers and sandwiches.

The perfect spot for a casual breakfast or lunch. They serve sandwiches and salads. And they have the cutest little outdoor area with lights strung up to enjoy your meal.
