I spent the first two weeks of 2019 doing some reflecting. 2018 was a pretty big year. I moved from DC to Raleigh, started a new job, and got engaged. When I started thinking about what I wanted to accomplish this year, I came up with things like run that half marathon I’ve been talking about for years, find something I’m passionate about, find a lucrative side hustle to save extra money for a down payment on a house.
I’m the queen of getting excited about a new idea or a goal and quitting before I really get started. I’ve started training for more than one half marathon and never run more than 2 miles without stopping to walk. I complained about my job and got excited about the job search without putting in the work to apply. I’ve started several blogs and etsy shops, but stopped before I had any real momentum.
So 2019 is the year of follow through. This is the year that I will start running and keep running. This is the year that I’ll put in the work to find something I’m really passionate about. This is the year that I’ll start a blog and not give up on it. Ambitious? Maybe. Probably. But I’m hoping that having that overarching goal for the year will push me to follow through in the times that I want to give up.
Did you set an intention for 2019?
